SANDY

I am Sandra "Sandy" Brumfield, a registered nurse and the founder of Embracing Hearts At Home LLC.

I have been a critical care nurse for over 25 years and a legal nurse consultant for 10 years. I am now loving this new chapter of doing in-home care! I enjoy going out and meeting people in our communities and welcoming them to our growing family! When I'm not working, I love spending time with my daughter and our furry pack! We love to go on day trips and explore the neighboring towns, antique stores, garage sales, and the many sites that Georgia has to offer.

I truly enjoy observing, learning, and meeting new clients and seeing how I can make a difference in their lives. SCOTT

Hi! I am Scott and I assist Sandy with the billing of her Medicaid and private pay clients. I am motivated to work in the healthcare industry because I was fortunate to be able to manage my mom’s healthcare needs for the last ten years of her life. I have recently passed all of the requirements for the NCCT as a National Certified Insurance and Coding Specialist. I like to think my biggest contribution to Sandy is taking a small amount of the administrative functions off of her hands so that she can do what she does best; coordinate the best in-home care for her clients.

HAYLEY

Working with the elderly is so fulfilling. They are always very hospitable, sweet, and not shy with compliments. It makes this rewarding job so much easier when working with people who truly appreciate your efforts or even just your time when sitting and chatting. In my free time, I enjoy seeing my family, singing, and playing video games. Currently, I am going to school to be a Physical Therapist Assistant.

JENNIFER

I’m Jennifer, but if you say it like my family, you’d say Jenn-iff-fa Ann-n. I’ve been in nursing for over 12 years. I’m from New York but grew up both there and here in Georgia, so I’ve had the best of both worlds. My husband and I have 6 kids. (No, that is not a typo.) We have six kids together. My family is my whole world. I always wanted to be in the medical field, although I thought it would be in Veterinarian medicine, but I thought better of it as I would not be able to handle having to put animals down. I treat ALL of my patients as if they are #1 and as if they ARE my family because I would expect nothing less, I do love to talk and to listen, but I also know that sometimes you just need to be there, so to speak. Taking care of you IS my life's work. The quality of care you get MATTERS, and choosing to have me in your home means something to me. Smiles are contagious, and positivity makes life worth living.

I love to get a smile or a laugh from my clients before I leave for the day. When I’m not working, I enjoy family, singing, playing with my dogs, writing poetry, listening to music, and watching movies.

Helping others is something I enjoy doing. Knowing that I can assist others brings me joy. Working as a nurse is my ambition. I enjoy visiting new areas and taking in the scenery in my spare time. My objective is to help as many sick and needy people around the world as possible.

VIRGINIA

I got started in this field because of my mother. She died twelve years ago from Alzheimer’s. My daughter and I took good care of her. It was not easy; she needed to be watched around the clock. We were afraid to let strangers take care of her because we thought others would mistreat her. It takes a lot of patience to deal with these patients, but I love it. I did take some psychology courses that I thought would help me to care for clients with Alzheimer's and to give me some insight into their care. To be in this field, you really need to care about people.

Embracing Hearts at Home, LLC

JULIE

I like being a caregiver because I have time to give one on one care which increases the quality of a client’s life while giving family respite from the hard work of being a caregiver.

TAZEEN

I moved from Bangladesh to California in 1992 and took care of my parents until they passed. I then decided that I truly enjoyed caring for people and got my CNA license in California. My first client was a gentleman with Parkinson’s and through him, I knew that I had found my calling.

I love caring for others and I treat them like they are my own family. I have been caring for others now for over 22 years and cannot imagine doing anything else. In my spare time, I love to cook. I am a homebody and enjoy spending time with my family.

RHONDA W.

Hi! I’m Rhonda, and I want you to know that I made the career choice to work with Sandy at Embracing Hearts at Home because I wanted to help people and make a real difference in their lives. Sometimes we get so distracted by the busyness of life that we forget what is really important and will make a difference far after we have gone. That is the love, compassion, and service that we do to help others now. It spreads joy and encouragement that is contagious, a “ripple effect” so to speak.Helping to improve the quality of life for someone in need is one of the most rewarding things that I can think of to do.  We all have had or will need a little help along the road of life.  With Sandy’s direction and expertise, I get the opportunity to make a lasting difference. When not working, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our family, dancing, and travel, BUT there is no place like HOME. 😊

CAROLYN

My name is Carolyn Lawson, and I love being a caregiver.  It is one of the most satisfying things that I do.  It makes me happy that I can make someone feel better.  I get so much joy knowing I'm making a difference in one's life.  When my shift is over, I feel as though my life matters because I was able to fulfill  the needs of someone who needed my care.  It is a lot of responsibility to allow a stranger to come in your home and be vulnerable enough to allow them to care for your personal needs, then trust you to around their valuables .  I don't take the bond without clients lightly.   I really do respect and feel honored that they are comfortable and knows that on my watch I am providing the best top notched services not because I am being paid by them but because I love my job and the people who employ me.

My hobbies are decorating,  organizing closets, and cleaning is like therapy for me. Caring for our patients at Embracing Hearts is so vitally important  to me.  I love working for an agency that loves and respects their patients. They are our family.

Clara

Clara

Hi! I am Clara and I started taking care of people in 2020. What could be more wonderful than taking care of someone who needs it? I think that bringing a smile to someone's face should be the purpose of everybody's life. It is certainly my purpose. I am not just a personal care assistant but I am also a friend. A friend who will be here to listen when they need to talk, dance, joke, walk around, and sing together. I love every single person that I have taken care of as if they are a part of my family. And this year, I have met Embracing Hearts at Home, which is a community of people who enjoy doing the same things as I do. I am grateful to be able to bring a piece of joy to people alongside this organization.
